An Evolving technology focusing on customer’s needs

BARS is the first blood tracking system sold in the UK.  It has constantly been refined since, thanks to customers’ feedback and comments.

Intuitive

  • Touchscreen or barcode reader with easy to follow steps to release blood

Ruggedized

  • Operates on latest operating systems (Windows 10 Professional) to reduce malware risks

  • 10 years of customer-led refinement has minimised risks of bugging

  • Hardware is constantly improved to eliminate weak points

Versatile

  • Software integrates with any LIMS

  • It can be adjusted to needs, e.g. electronic release vs cross-matched; use of portable bed reader or not.

Electronic Blood Release

User – friendly electronic blood release

  • Blood is pre-qualified in labs, stored in dispensing fridge and released on demand.

  • For further security, blood is matched at the bedside, using patient wrist band barcode.

How does it work?

Cross-Matched Blood Release

Secured Cross-Matched Blood Release

  • Blood is allocated to a specific patient and then dispatched to a dispensing fridge via LIMS.

  • Blood is then only dispatched when the correct patient is linked to the correct blood.

  • For further security, blood is matched at the bedside, using patient wrist band barcode.

How does it work?

Wristband Software Module

Independent software module

  • BARS Wristband Printing software is a stand alone module.

  • A hospital does not have to use BARS control units.

  • The wristband can be configured to suit a hospitals particular requirements.

  • A 2D barcode can hold 1000 characters, making the system future proof.

  • The same software is also used for printing patient labels, that can be attached onto patient notes.
